Cooking Mistake Memento began as a personal experiment. The creator noticed they kept repeating the same kitchen errors - burning sauces, over-salting, forgetting steps. Other cooks online seemed to have the same problem.
Instead of another recipe site, this is a mistake journal. Record errors, see patterns, learn prevention. No accounts, no ads (in the app itself), no judgment.
The project lives at cooking-mistake-memento.hub2.day. It's part of a collection of small utilities for everyday problems. Each stands alone but shares the same values: fast, private, useful.
How to Use This Journal
Start by logging your first mistake. Pick the category that fits best. Describe what happened as clearly as possible. Add a prevention tip if you have one.
After logging, review your history. Notice if certain categories appear often. Those are your priority areas for improvement.
Use the export button to save your entries as JSON. Import them back if needed, or share interesting insights with cooking friends.
Technical Details
This site runs entirely in your browser. All data is stored in localStorage, which persists until you clear browser data or use incognito mode.
The interface works on phones, tablets, and computers. No JavaScript is required for basic viewing, though logging entries needs it enabled.
Categories are fixed: timing, temperature, seasoning, and technique. These cover most common errors without overwhelming choices.
